Note: The Internet and electronic publishing are changing the way engineers and other professionals look for and access information. However, engineers tend to rely much more on interpersonal and informal means of communication than other scientists. The author of Communication Patterns of Engineers will discuss the research behind this understanding, the practical implications of the findings, and the predicted effects of electronic publishing on future engineering communications.
